Re-Thinking the SyllabusI have been revamping my old syllabuses for the last five years...but no matter how I would change them, they were boring, bland and students threw them in the trash by the end of the week. My friend and another creative Cali teacher came up with an ingenious idea...make your Syllabus a piktochart! Piktochart is free and easy to use. My students create pictocharts for projects but I never considered using them for my class...until now. Check out these I created for my students. I will be printing the 7th grade ones on legal size paper (2 per paper) in Black and White. I will also post the images on their CANVAS (learning management system) on their homepage. That way they see it every time they go to their classroom assignments. You can even embed videos into your pictochart! (Picture below) This is what my students see every time they go into their online classwork (CANVAS). Create a page (and set it as your Homepage) and you can link the picture to modules, so when they click it, it takes them to their assignments.
