Using an online wall for students to share thoughtsI use padlet for online discussions. This is great for my quieter, shyer students because it gives them a voice and legitimizes their thoughts. Its a free url based website that is very easy to use (once you play around with it a little). I usually pose a controversial questions and students respond. They can instantly see other students responses (I "moderate posts" which means I have to approve the post before students can see it...because one time a student put something inaaprioate, and I could not find out who wrote it, you can do that in settings) Create a padlet and share with students via email, put link on board, put link on CANVAS or make a QR code. Here is an example of what Period 1 wrote about what "racism" meant to them. I moderated the posts and required them to write their Student ID or Name so they could get credit for posting. Moderate posts, otherwise students can write whatever they want and you cannot determine who wrote it. They instantly see student responses without moderation. Kids love it because its interactive and they can post videos and photos as well.
